011 Designs that connect, locally and globally
Japanese product design has brought new attention to traditional skills and regional crafts, and has stimulated communication between manufacturers and consumers.
The exhibition WA: The Spirit of Harmony and Japanese Design Today, which opened in Paris in 2008 and has traveled to six cities in five countries, serves as a starting point for thinking about Japanese design--the spirit of craftsmanship it embraces, as well as its future.
